Darlene T. Schinlever, CIA, MBA
President
Darlene T. Schinlever is the owner and holds the title of President for The Schinlever Group Inc. Darlene started the company in April 2007 after having spent five years as a partner and owner in Fowler and Schinlever Ltd. Darlene is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and holds a Masters Degree in Business from VCU.

Darlene has more than 27 years of internal audit and related experience in the banking industry. After three years in retail banking, she joined the Audit Division of Crestar Bank where she spent the next 20 years actively participating in all aspects of internal audit including; financial audits, operational audits, control consulting, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, fraud investigations and assisting the General Auditor in managing a staff of 47 professional internal auditors.

Prior to joining Fowler and Schinlever Ltd, Darlene spent three years as the Internal Auditor for a large regional law firm.

James E. Wheeler, CIA, CBA
Senior Internal Auditor and Control Consultant
Jim Wheeler was on board when Darlene Schinlever started The Schinlever Group in April 2007. Jim joined Fowler & Schinlever Ltd. in November 2004 as a Senior Auditor and Control Consultant. Jim brings to the company more than 25 years of internal audit and related experience in the banking industry. Jim is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Bank Auditor (CBA).

Jim spent 17 years with the Audit Division of Crestar Bank where he managed a professional staff of nine. His duties included budgeting, scheduling and directing all aspects of the internal audit function including; financial audits, operational audits, control consulting, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and fraud investigations.

Jim then joined the Finance Division of Crestar Bank where he managed three cost allocation and product profitability systems. Jim also participated in Crestar’s PeopleSoft Accounting and Financial Reporting implementation project for two years, which included operational and financial efficiency audits of Accounting and Finance.

Charlotte R. Sheppard, CPA
Senior Internal Auditor and Control Consultant
Charlotte Sheppard joined The Schinlever Group in April 2007 as a senior Internal Auditor and Control Consultant. Charlotte brings to the company over 27 years of accounting and audit related experience.

Since February 2001 Charlotte has served as the Director of Finance for United Methodist Family Services (UMFS) where she managed all the financial functions in a group of affiliated non-profits comprised of four separate corporations and two limited liability partnerships with over 250 employees in multiple sites. As the Director of Finance and Administration with District 19 Community Services Board from September 1995 to February 2001, Charlotte managed all the finance functions in a multi-million dollar organization of over 270 employees in multiple sites. From July 1990 to August 1995 Charlotte was the Fiscal Director for the Department of Youth and Family Services where she was responsible for the integrity of financial systems and information including state and federal grants and other sources of revenue, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, fixed assets, leases and management and financial reporting. Charlotte started her accounting career as a senior auditor for Touche Ross and Company for 2 ½ years. From there she joined the State of Virginia and served as Senior Internal Auditor, Assistant Manager of Financial Reporting and Accounting Manager between the years of 1982 and 1990.

Lloyd E. Tyner, CBA
Senior Internal Auditor and Control Consultant
Lloyd Tyner joined the Schinlever Group on March 30, 2007. Lloyd recently left SunTrust Bank with a career total of 36 years experience in the banking industry. Twenty of those years were in internal audit. Lloyd is a Certified Bank Auditor (CBA) and has successfully completed the exam for a Certified Business Continuity Planner.

Prior to joining SunTrust in 1980, Lloyd spent five years as a Bank Operations Manager with Southern National Bank of North Carolina (now BB&T) and four years as an internal auditor for the First National Bank of Martinsville. From 1980 to 1994 Lloyd was an internal auditor for SunTrust Bank (formally Crestar). In 1994 Lloyd transferred to Consumer Lending with SunTrust. Lloyd was instrumental in beginning a quality control review group just prior to Crestar’s merger with SunTrust. That group still functions today. Since 1998 Lloyd has been involved in Business Continuity Planning for the Consumer Lending Group at SunTrust Bank.
